Air Force Falls To Wyoming, 3-1

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 match to Wyoming Friday night at the Cadet Soccer Stadium. The loss dropped the Falcons to 2-9-1, 0-1 and improved the Cowgirls to 6-4-2, 1-0.
After Air Force struck for and early goal seven minutes into the match, Wyoming scored three consecutive goals in the first-half to lead 3-1.
Stephanie Patterson scored the Falcons goal with Kelly Bieber assisting. Patterson reached a ball just outside the box and raced towards Wyoming's net with the ball. From 15 yards out, Patterson appeared to head left but shot to the right corner of the net for the score.
Wyoming tied the match up in the 13th minute as Jerrica DiVencenzo got to a deflected ball and fired from 20 yards out for the score. The Cowgirls took the lead in the 21st minute as Nicole Rice slipped the ball past Falcon goalkeeper Charity Blanton off a pass from Emma Wilson.
Blanton had to leave the game on the goal due to injury and was replaced by sophomore Ariana Green. Blanton had four saves and Green one for the Falcons.
Wyoming made it a 3-1 game as Mara Cosgrove scored off a header from Wilson in the 32nd minute.
The Cowgirls had 13 shots in the game, with seven for Air Force.
Air Force returns to action Thursday, Oct. 8, at TCU. Kickoff is slated for 11:30 a.m. CST.
