Air Force Plays Eastern Washington to Scoreless Tie

    USAFA, Colo. - The Air Force women's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw against Eastern Washington Friday night at the Cadet Soccer Stadium. The Falcons are now 2-1-2 on the season, while the Eagles moved to 0-2-1.

    Junior goalkeeper Kelly Stambaugh notched her fourth shutout in five matches, the last two via double-overtime, to start the season for AFA. Stambaugh had 10 saves on the day.

    The two teams combined for 45 shots, 17 on goal. Air Force had 26 shots, seven on goal and EWU had 19 shots, 10 on goal.

    Air Force had several chances, especially late in the match and in overtime but failed to convert. Junior Leah Bratt led the Falcons with five shot attempts. Kaleigh Moses, Megan Dozier and McKenna Fox added four shots each for AFA.

    Air Force has the rest of the Parent's Weekend off and returns to action next Friday, Sept. 7 hosting Robert Morris.
