    Capt. J. Donavon "Dono" Kneuer enters his third year as an assistant coach with the Falcon women's soccer program. A standout four-year letterwinner from 1997-2000 with the Air Force men's team, Kneuer was a welcome addition to the program in 2008.

    Kneuer was a four-year starter at sweeper for the Falcons, appearing in 67 career games, starting 64. As a senior, Kneuer was a team co-captain and earned team MVP honors. Kneuer scored four goals and had five assists out of the backfield in his career.

    Upon graduation from the Academy in 2001, Kneuer went to Misawa, Japan as an aircraft maintenance officer. He deployed a squadron of F-16's into Saudi Arabia for the first attacks on Baghdad in 2003. He then volunteered for a one-year short tour in Korea. He spent three years in Germany where he deployed to Afghanistan, Portugal, England and to many other European countries. During his six years serving abroad he was a member of the All-Air Force soccer team. In 2002, he took the Air Force team to an interservice championship as the team MVP. He was selected to the All-Armed Services team where he traveled to Barbados to compete against the military teams from Canada and Barbados.

    A native of Littleton, Colo., Kneuer was a soccer standout at Mullen High School, where he earned all-league honors as a sweeper three times. He was also a team captain and two-time all-state selectee. In 1997, he was named to the All-Colorado Team. He also played on the under-21 Colorado Rush Select Team which competed for the 1999 national championship.

    Kneuer, who now resides in Colorado Springs, is the husband of Cathy Kneuer and the son of Chris and Marcia Kneuer. He has a younger brother, Brian, who is married to Nikki. Brian is a partner and analyst for Cedar Partners and Nikki is a physical education teacher and varsity volleball coach at Dakota Ridge High School in Littleton, Colo.

    Dono and Cathy have a daughter, Josephine, who was born in 2009.
