Air Force Trio Named to MPSF All-Academic Team


    WOODLAND, Calif. -- Three members of the Air Force women's gymnastics team were selected to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation's Academic All-Conference Team, the league announced late Tuesday (April 25). Senior Lauren Robison is making her second appearance on the all-academic list, while junior Sashonna Iwaniec and sophomore Katie Donnell each claimed their first honor.

    Robison, a biology major at the Academy, has the best grade-point-average of the trio at 3.20. Majoring in behavioral sciences, Iwaniec currently holds a 3.13 GPA, while Donnell holds a 3.10 in environmental engineering.

    All three Falcons have been key components to the squad throughout their careers. Robison claimed first-team all-MPSF honors on the vault, bars, floor and all-around, while picking up second-team accolades on the beam. Iwaniec also earned all-conference honors, named to the second-team on the vault, floor and all-around).

    To be eligible for the MPSF All-Academic Team, student-athletes must be in at least their second academic year at the member institution, hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better and have competed in at least 50 percent of the team's meets.
