Air Force Places Four on MPSF All-Academic Squad

    WOODLAND, Calif. - Four members of the Air Force women's gymnastics team were named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation academic all-conference team, the league office announced today (April 17). Senior Sashonna Iwaniec and sophomore Abigail Rogers joined juniors Katie Donnell and Kelly Lewis as the Falcons' representative to the squad.

     

    In her first eligible season, Rogers leads the group with a 3.65 grade-point-average in behavioral sciences - a GPA that is the fourth highest in the league. Lewis is also making her first appearance on the all-academic list with a 3.41 GPA in legal studies.

     

    Donnell and Iwaniec are each making their second appearance on the MPSF academic all-conference list. Donnell holds a 3.31 grade-point-average in environmental engineering, while Iwaniec rounds out the group with a 3.12 GPA in behavioral sciences.

     

    Rogers, Iwaniec and Lewis wrap up the 2007 campaign this weekend at the USA Gymnastics Collegiate Championships on April 19-21 in Seattle, Wash.

     

    To be considered for the academic all-conference team, student-athletes must hold a 3.0 or better grade-point-average and be at least a sophomore with one full academic year completed at the institution prior to the season that the award was received. In addition, the student-athlete must have competed in 50-percent or more of the institution's competitions.
