USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force sophomore Linnaea Hance will compete in the all-around at the NCAA Women's Gymnastics Regional Championships on Saturday, April 7, in Salt Lake City, Utah. The regional meet begins at 6 p.m., at the Huntsman Center on Utah's campus.
With an all-around regional qualifying average of 38.775, Hance enters the regional meet ranked 19th in the North Central Region. The sophomore, who will compete with the Arizona State squad during the regional meet, opens on the balance beam. She will then have a bye, before rotating to the floor exercise, vault, bye and uneven bars.
The six full squads scheduled to compete at the Salt Lake City Regional are No. 5 Nebraska, No. 8 Utah, No. 17 Minnesota, No. 24 Iowa State, No. 28 Arizona State and No. 35 San Jose State. Individual athletes, including the remaining all-around competitors, event specialists and alternates, are from BYU, Utah State and Southern Utah.
Six teams, five all-around competitors who are not on a qualifying team and one individual event specialist per event will compete at each of the six host sites (Auburn, Ala., Champaign, Ill., Fayetteville, Ark., Raleigh, N.C., Salt Lake City, Utah, and Seattle, Wash.) this weekend. The top finishers from each region will advance to the NCAA National Championships, which will be held April 19-21 in Athens, Ga.
