INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Four members of the Air Force women's gymnastics team were selected to compete at the NCAA Women's Gymnastics Regional Championships, the NCAA office announced this afternoon (March 25). Three all-arounders and one event specialist were selected to compete at the Columbus Regional on April 6.

Representing the Academy in the all-around competition will be the junior trio of Linnaea Hance, Katie Hawthorne and Jen Larsen. It will be the second straight regional appearance for Hance, who claimed the program's best finish in seven years (14th) at last year's meet. Hawthorne, the alternate in the all-around in 2012, and Larsen will both be making their first regional appearance.

Sophomore Jessica Wallander, who claimed the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation champion on the vault two days ago, was selected as the region's individual event specialist on the vault, uneven bars and floor exercise.

In addition, junior Jessica Hanner was selected as the alternate on the balance beam, while sophomore Alexandra Stych was picked as the floor exercise alternate.

The six full squads scheduled to compete at the Columbus Regional are No. 6 UCLA, No. 7 LSU, No. 18 Arizona, No. 20 Ohio State, No. 24 (tie) Central Michigan and No. 31 NC State. Individual athletes, including the remaining all-around competitors, event specialists and alternates are from Utah State and Wisconsin-Stout.

The Columbus Regional will take place at 6 p.m., on Saturday, April 6, at Ohio State's St. John Arena.

Six teams, five all-around competitors who are not on a qualifying team and one individual event specialist per event were named to each of the six host sites (Gainesville, Fla., Morgantown, W.V., Norman, Okla., Tuscaloosa, Ala., Corvallis, Ore., and Columbus, Ohio). The top two teams and top two all-arounders who are not on an advancing team will receive an automatic berth to the NCAA Championships, which will be held April 19-21 in Los Angeles.
