Air Force Women's Gymnastics Downs TWU
U.S.A.F Academy, Colo. -- The Air Force Academy women's gymnastics took first place in their final home meet of the season Saturday evening at the Cadet Gymnasium's West Gym with a final team score of 194.675. The Falcons took on Texas Woman's University in dual meet action, with TWU posting a final team score of 191.500.
Air Force had an outstanding evening with the Falcons setting another school record on vault, 48.750, breaking a record just set in Thursday's triangular at Denver.
Individually, C3C (So.) Kim Broughton had an amazing evening, placing first on floor (9.825), on bars (9.825) and in the all-around (39.075). Broughton also finished in a three-way tie for second on beam with C3C Jenn Dougherty and C1C (Sr.) Kristi Delcour with a score of 9.700. Other gymnasts who placed well include C2C (Jr.) Beth Stott who finished first on beam (9.825); C1C Liz Weber who took first on vault (9.850); and C1C Amy Hultin who placed second in the all-around (38.925).
The Falcons are off this week but will be traveling to Salt Lake City, Utah for the NCAA Regional Championships on Saturday, April 7.
