Women's Gymnastics Head Coach Lisa Woody Comments On Home Meet
What a GREAT weekend!!
The Air Force women's gymnastics team finally had some home meets...and the team was AWESOME!!! We are currently and have been all season long: ranked #1 in the USAG Collegiate Nationals Rankings and we're ranked #1 on three out of the four events too. We are not only looking forward to competing at the USAG Nationals, but before the USAG's... the team wants to compete at the NCAA Championships (Regionals) in Salt Lake City, Utah...and we definitely have the opportunity to get there---we have two more opportunities to improve our season RQS (Regional Qualifying Score) with a meet at Denver University this Thursday, 22 March (along with TWU) and then AFA hosts TWU Saturday, 24 March at 7p.m. for our last home meet. The last meet of the regular season will be a very special meet as we say our heartfelt thanks to our four seniors: Jenn Glomb (Team Captain), Elizabeth Weber, Amy Hultin and Kristi Delcour. Our final rankings and notification of NCAA Qualification will happen this Sunday / Monday!!
Now---about this past weekend: First and foremost: we broke the AFA Team Total record--AGAIN !!! 194.325
Vault: 48.225
Bars: 48.475

Floor: 48.900 What can I say---the TEAM is really fired up!! They are so focused and ready...they really want to finish this season up with a BANG---to make it to Regionals as a TEAM!!
Sunday-18-March
Vault: 48.275
Bars: 48.325
Beam: 48.700
Floor: 49.025 Hultin had her career high in the all-around with a total of 39.000...and C3C (So.) Kim Broughton (junior classification in NCAA standards) with a very consistent night and a 38.925. All we need to do for these last couple of meets---exactly what they've done the last six weeks---the team knows what it will take from each and every person---and are ready to have a GREAT meet on Thursday and especially on Saturday...TWU is coming to our gym--and will definitely be hungry for a win. The Ladybirds know this and are both mentally and physically prepared for the challenge. Please be sure to come out to join in the fun and excitement for the senior's last regular season meet of their career...it will be a spectacular event!!! Thank you for your support of our team!!! P.S. just a quick note... C4C Laura Frank just got out of successful knee ACL surgery and we wish her the best in her recovery and rehab --- we miss her greatly and can't wait to have her back!!!
Thank You~
