Falcons Fall In Triangular Meet

    The Air Force women's gymnastics team fell in a triangular meet with Denver Univ. and North Carolina State, hosted by DU Thursday evening. Denver finished first with a team score of 196.275, followed by NC State (195.075) and the Falcons (192.450).

    In the all-around competition, Falcons C2C (Jr.) Jennifer Dougherty tied for second (38.950), C1C (Sr.) Bethnay Stott took fourth (38.600), C2C Kimberly Broughton placed sixth (38.000), and C4C (Fr.) Jessa Liegl finished seventh (37.675).

    The top Air Force finishing spot for the evening was Dougherty on floor exercise with a 9.875. C3C (So.) Erin Maguire tied with Stott on floor with a 9.750, followed by Broughton and Liegl who tied for 11th (9.725). Dougherty finished 10th for the top Falcon spot on beam with 9.725, followed by Sott who placed 11th (9.600). Broughton tied for eighth on vault (9.725) and Dougherty took the top Air Force spot on uneven bars and finished 10th with a 9.750.

    The Falcons face DU again when they host the Pioneers Sunday afternoon in a dual meet for Air Force's final competition of the regular season. Sunday's meet will also feature and exhibition performance by a local gym, Jungle Gym, on floor exercise only. The meet begins at 3:30 p.m. in the Cadet Gymnasium's West Gym.
