Air Force Tops UCSB In Dual Meet
March 11, 2002 The Air Force women's gymnastics team topped the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos, 192.800-187.625, in a dual meet hosted by the Gauchos Friday evening. The Falcons secured the top-three spots in every event of the competition. In the individual all-around, C2C (Jr.) Kimberly Broughton took first with a score of 38.725, followed by C2C Jennifer Dougherty (38.525) and C1C (Sr.) Bethany Stott (38.500). Dougherty took top honors on floor with a 9.825. C2C Allison Todd finished second (9.800) with Stott taking third with a score of 9.775. Stott and C4C (Fr.) Jessa Liegl tied for first on beam with a score of 9.750. Todd followed for third with a 9.700. Broughton managed to finish first on both uneven parallel bars (9.800) and vault (9.675). Dougherty and Liegl tied for second on bars to follow Broughton with a score of 9.625. Dougherty followed Broughton on vault for second with a score of 9.625. Stott finished third with 9.575.
The Falcons travel to Denver Thursday, March 14 for a triangular with DU and NC State. Air Force follows the meet by hosting DU Sunday, March 17 in the Falcons' final home meet of the regular season. The Denver meet begins at 7:30 p.m.
