Air Force to Host Penn on Senior Night

The Air Force women's gymnastics team closes out the home schedule on Thursday, March 10, when it hosts Pennsylvania at 7 p.m., in the Cadet West Gym. It will be the final home meeting for co-captains Diane Godar and Jessa Liegl, as well as team manager Marie Juan.

The Falcons return to the Academy after four straight road meets dating back nearly a month.

Last time out, Air Force placed third in a tri-meet with two nationally-ranked teams. Top-ranked Nebraska extended its home winning streak to 56 matches with a score of 196.150. Minnesota took second with a 194.850, while the Falcons claimed third with the mark of 188.875.

In a homecoming, Lincoln-native Jessa Liegl was the team's top scorer on all events, including the all-around. Leigl scored a 9.575 on the vault to place 12th, while scoring a 9.625 on the bars for the same finish. The senior co-captain tied for eighth on the beam with a 9.650 and tied for ninth on the floor with a 9.750. Liegl also led the way in the all-around, placing second with a score of 38.600 -- just .025 shy of the event winner.

The Falcons stay close to home on Saturday (March 12), when they head up I-25 for a match-up with 14th-ranked Denver at 6 p.m.
