Falcons Downed by UC-Davis

    DAVIS, Calif. -- The Air Force women's gymnastics team scored a 179.700 to finish second to UC-Davis on Friday, March 3, in Davis, Calif. UC-Davis won the dual meet of Mountain Pacific Sports Federation foes with a score of 190.875.

    Senior Lauren Robison had the Falcons' top scores on a pair of events, collecting a pair of fifth-place finishes. Robison scored matching marks of 9.300 on the parallel bars and floor exercise. Junior Sashonna Iwaniec led the team on the vault with a score of 9.650, finishing fifth overall in the event, while classmate added a fifth-place score of 9.400 on the balance beam.

    Robison also led the squad in the all-around, totaling a 37.500 to finish first of the four Air Force all-around competitors.

    In addition to Robison's team-leading scores, she also posted the second-best total on the vault (sixth-9.575) and balance beam (sixth-9.325). Sophomore Katie Donnell recorded the second-best mark on the parallel bars with an eighth-place mark of 8.600, while Iwaniec scored a 9.275 on the floor exercise to finish sixth.

    Air Force wraps up the road season next weekend when they travel to Lexington, Ky., to take on the University of Kentucky and Ball State.
