WOODLAND, Calif. - After two school-record tying performances in Denton, Texas, Air Force gymnast Jessa Liegl (Lincoln, Neb.) was named Gymnast of the Week by the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, the league office announced today (March 2).

This is the second time that Liegl has been honored by the MPSF this season.

She tied the Academy's highest vault score of 9.900, en route to matching the school's best all-around total of 39.400, in a tri-meet with Texas Woman's University and BYU last Saturday (Feb. 29). Liegl led the Falcons in every event, highlighted by a second-place finish in the all-around.

Liegl is currently ranked first in the conference on both the vault (9.790 Regional Qualifying Score; 9.900 high) and floor exercise (9.855 RQS; 9.950 high). She is second in the MPSF in the floor exercise with a RQS of 38.645 (39.400 high).

The junior now holds a share of three school records. Aside from the vault and all-around scores, she matched the school record on the floor exercise at the Rocky Mountain Open.

Up next for the Falcons is a trip to Denver on Saturday (March 6). Air Force will meet up with the Pioneers at 6 p.m., in Hamilton Gymnasium.
