Falcons Downed By Denver In Dual Meet
Feb. 25, 2002 The Air Force women's gymnastics team lost its dual meet with Denver University Saturday evening, 196.500 - 192.925. The Falcons placed four of the top-five all arounders during Saturday's competition and had three gymnasts finish within the top three on balance beam and vault. C1C (Sr.) Bethany Stott tied for first on beam with a score of 9.900, followed by C2C (Jr.) Allison Todd who placed third with a score of 9.875. C2C Jennifer Dougherty finished with a score of 9.850 in a five-way tie for first on floor. Stott was close behind (9.775) followed by C2C Kimberly Broughton (9.675) and C1C Courtney Hamrick (9.625) who finished sixth, seventh and eighth. Dougherty finished second all around (38.900). Stott and Todd tied with a score of 38.375, followed by Broughton who finished fifth with a score of 38.325.
Air Force faces Denver again in another dual meet when the Falcons host the Pioneers March 17 in the Cadet Gymnasium's West Gym. Air Force will be in action again March 1 at Bowling Green and then at Western Michigan March 3.
