Seven Falcons Head Home as Women's Gymnastics Heads To Texas
The Air Force women's gymnastics team travels to Denton, Texas, to face head coach Lisa Woody's alma mater Texas Woman's University on Saturday, Feb. 26. The Falcons and Pioneers are slated to face off at 7 p.m., at the Kitty Magee Arena on the campus of TWU.
LONE STAR STATE OF MIND
Half of the Air Force women's gymnastics team calls Texas home. Senior Diane Godar hails from Conroe, while sophomore Christine Powers is from Hurst and freshman Emi Kreiner is from Houston. Sophomore Ronda Helart and freshman Kelly Lewis both call Plano home, as does assistant coach 2Lt Tammy Ritchey. In addition, head coach Lisa Woody is from Fort Worth.
HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS
The remaining seven members represent six different states from across the country. Freshman Katie Donnell (Santa Fe) and sophomore Charlotte Freedman (Albuquerque) both hail from New Mexico, while senior Jessa Liegl finds home in the heartland of Nebraska. Callae Canfield (Georgia), Shonna Iwaniec (Pennsylvania) and Lauren Robison (North Carolina) have made the cross-country journey to the Academy.
