Linnaea Hance Named MPSF Gymnast of the Week
Feb. 15, 2011
WOODLAND, Calif. - Air Force freshman Linnaea Hance was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Gymnast of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday, Feb. 15. Hance claimed her first weekly award after posting three career-best marks and winning a title to help the Falcons to a season-high score of 192.400. Hance tallied career-best marks on the uneven bars (9.800), floor exercise (9.600) and all-around (38.575). The native of Naperville, Ill., tied for first on the balance beam (9.725) and placed second on the bars and all-around. Hance's strong marks helped Air Force to its best team score of the season in a narrow loss to defending USAG National Champion Bridgeport. Today's award marked the second time this season that an Air Force gymnast earned the league's weekly award, as senior Brittany Dutton earned the honor on Jan. 25. The Falcons return to action on Saturday, Feb. 19, when they travel to Ypsilanti, Mich., for a dual meet with Eastern Michigan. Action begins at 1 p.m. (EST) at Bowen Field House.
