Falcons Finish Third At San Jose State
Feb. 15, 2003 The Air Force women's gymnastics team took third in a triangular at San Jose State with Mountain Pacific Sports Federation rivals San Jose State and Seattle Pacific. The Falcons finished with a team score of 189.800 behind San Jose State who finished with a score of 192.575 for first place, followed by Seattle Pacific who finished with a score 190.025. The top finisher for Air Force was sophomore Jessa Liegl, who won the all-around with a score of 38.950, followed San Jose State's Shirla Choy (38.800) and Dani Albright (38.700) and Falcon senior team captain Allison Todd (38.500) and junior Laura Frank (38.050). Liegl also finished second on floor with a 9.900 behind Albright who took first with a 9.950. Liegl tied for third on vault with Trojan Kelsey Spellacy with a 9.650. Air Force's Todd and freshman Lauren Robison tied for sixth on vault with a 9.600. Todd and Liegl tied for fourth on bars with 9.750 behind Spellacy (9.925) who finished first for San Jose State and Seattle Pacific's Melissa Stanton (9.800) and Kristen Strid (9.775). Air Force's Frank tied for third on beam with Albright with a 9.700. The Falcons return to action Saturday, February 22, when they host Alaska-Anchorage at 7 p.m. in the Cadet Gymnasium's West Gym. Final Results - Team: San Jose State, 192.575. Seattle Pacific, 190.525. Air Force, 189.800.
