Lauren Robison Named MPSF Gymnast of the Week
WOODLAND, Calif. -- Air Force senior gymnast Lauren Robison was named Gymnast of the Week by the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, the league office announced today (Feb. 14). Robison, who guided the Falcons to their first victories of the season over the weekend, won the all-around and uneven bars on both nights.
On Friday night, the Falcons' lone senior posted a 37.675 in the all-around to capture the top honor. Robison also posted a 9.500 on the uneven bars to tie for first. Also contributing to her all-around total was a second-place mark on the vault (9.575) and a fourth-place score on the balance beam (9.350) -- the team's second-best score of the night on the beam. Robison repeated both honors during Sunday's meet. The senior captain dominated the bars, with a 9.550 routine -- a score that was 0.125 better than anyone else in the field. Robison, who also finished third on the vault (9.550) and beam (9.525), picked up her second all-around title of the season with an impressive combined total of 38.100. That mark distanced Robison from the runner-up by .725 points. Air Force, which is off from competition this weekend, returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 25, when it travels to Seattle, Wash., to face Mountain Pacific Sports Federation foe, Seattle-Pacific at 7 p.m. (PST).
