Air Force Finishes Third at TWU Tri-Meet

    DENTON, Texas -- With a score of 176.925, the Air Force women's gymnastics team finished third at the Texas Woman's University tri-meet on Sunday, Jan. 29, in Denton, Texas. Visiting Oklahoma won the meet with a team score of 195.900, while host TWU took second with a total of 191.250.

    Senior Lauren Robison led the Falcons in scoring during three of the four events. In the floor exercise and uneven bars, she was the only Air Force athlete to register higher than a nine-point score, posting respective marks of 9.075 and 9.175. Robison also topped the team in the vault with a score of 9.525, while earning the team's second-best score on the balance beam (9.550)

    Junior Christine Powers posted the team's top score on the balance beam, registering a 9.625, while earning the team's second-best mark on the floor exercise at 8.875. Powers' eighth-place finish on the balance beam was the team's best of the day and the only to crack the individual event top-10 lists.

    Freshman Joana Everett earned the Falcons' second-best vault score of 9.450, while sophomore Katie Donnell notched the second-best mark of 8.925 on the bars.

    After three straight weeks away from Colorado, the Falcons get a little closer to home on Saturday (Feb. 4), as they travel to Denver to take on the Pioneers at 6 p.m.
