Brittany Dutton Named MPSF Gymnast of the Week

WOODLAND, Calif. - Air Force senior team captain Brittany Dutton was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Gymnast of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday, Jan. 25. Dutton claimed the weekly honor after posting personal-best performances to win the uneven bars and all-around during the Falcons' victory over Seattle Pacific on Saturday, Jan. 22. Dutton earned career-high scores in winning efforts on the uneven bars (9.775) and all-around (38.625) to help the Falcons to a season-best 191.475-190.425 victory over MPSF foe Seattle Pacific. She also matched her season-best mark on the vault (9.650) to finish second, while turning in a season-high score of 9.650 to tie for fourth on the balance beam. The senior leads the conference on the vault with an average of 9.650, while ranking second in the all-around with a 37.875 average. It is the second such award of Dutton's career, as she also claimed the league's gymnast of the week award as a sophomore. Air Force returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 29, when it travels to Minneapolis, Minn., for a dual meet with 14th-ranked Minnesota. Action begins at 6 p.m., at the Sports Pavilion.
