Alaska Downs Air Force in Dual Meet Action
ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- The Air Force women's gymnastics team dropped a 187.250-154.825 decision to Alaska-Anchorage in the weekend finale between the two programs on Sunday (Jan. 15) in Anchorage, Alaska. The Seawolves dominated the meet, taking the four individual event titles at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex.
Senior Lauren Robison, who also led the Falcons during Friday's meet with UAA, topped the team in three of the four events. Robison tabulated a 9.450 on the uneven bars to finish third, while taking fourth on the vault (9.250) and balance beam (9.325). Robison also finished third in the all-around with a combined score of 36.800. Sophomore Katie Donnell tied Robison for the Falcons' best mark on the balance beam at 9.325, while also taking the top Air Force score on the floor exercise. Donnell posted a score of 8.850 to take sixth on the floor. Donnell also collected the team's second-best total on the vault (8.650), uneven bars (8.550) and all-around (35.375). Junior Christine Powers had Air Force's second-best vault score, with an 8.850 to finish eighth, while classmate Charlotte Freedman took seventh in the floor exercise with an 8.825. Air Force, which opens the season with four straight weeks on the road, travels to Shreveport, La., on Friday, Jan. 20, to take on Centenary College and Missouri.
