SEATTLE, Wash. – Highlighted by a fourth-place finish from junior Casey Bell, three members of the Air Force women’s gymnastics team wrapped up the 2017 season this afternoon (April 9) at the USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships. Bell was one of two top-five finishers for the Falcons at Seattle Pacific’s Broughton Pavilion.
Bell scored a 9.825 – her second-highest score of the season – to tie for fourth in the 18-gymnast event final and lead Air Force top a pair of top-10 finishes on the floor. Senior Kara Witgen, competing in her second USAG event final on the floor, scored a 9.750 to finish 10th in the overall standings.
Freshman Anna Salamone claimed a top-five finish for the Falcons, as she matched her career-high of 9.800 to tie for fifth on the uneven bars.
Witgen and Salamone also represented the Falcons on the vault during Sunday’s event finals, finishing 11th (9.7000) and 13th (9.2125), respectively.
By advancing to the individual event finals, the trio earned USAG All-America honors.
