DAVIS, Calif. - The Air Force women's gymnastics team netted its highest road score of the season (193.400) during the UC Davis Triangular on Friday, March 15, in Davis, Calif. Junior Linnaea Hance surpassed the 39-point in the all-around for the second time this season, as the Falcons accounted for four top-five event finishes.
Host and Mountain Pacific Sports Federation leader UC Davis won the three-team meet with a score of 195.625, while Sacramento State (194.875) and Air Force (193.400) rounded out the field.
Hance, who finished third in the all-around with a score of 39.025, collected the squad's best individual event finish of the night, tying for second on the uneven bars with a 9.825. She also finished within the top half of the field on the vault (9.750, seventh) and balance beam (9.725, seventh).
Freshman Shannen Kelly matched scores with Hance on the beam, as the pair tied for the team lead on that event. Sophomore Jessica Wallander paced the Falcons on the vault (9.775) and floor exercise (9.800), tallying fifth-place scores on both apparatus. Junior Katie Hawthorne rounded out the Falcons' event leaders, as she equaled her career best (9.800) to finish fifth on the uneven bars.
Wallander also finished within the top half of the 18-gymnast field on the uneven bars, as she placed ninth with a 9.725, while junior Jen Larsen matched Hance's 9.750 on the vault to finish seventh. In the all-around standings, Hawthorne matched her personal-best tally of 38.725 to finish fifth, while Larsen scored a 38.450 to place sixth.
The Falcons remain in California, traveling to Sacramento on Sunday (March 17) for a dual-meet rematch with Sacramento State at 2 p.m. (PST).
