Falcons Tally Season-High Score at Eagle Invitational

YPSILANTI, Mich. - The Air Force women's gymnastics team tallied its highest team score of the season on Saturday, March 8, during a fourth-place showing at the Eagle Invitational in Ypsilanti, Mich. The Falcons inched closer to the 190-point plateau, as it posted a combined score of 189.750 - its best total since 2005.
Eastern Michigan won its own invitational with a score of 192.475, while Northern Illinois and Illinois State finished second and third, with respective totals of 191.750 and 190.625.
The Falcons best finish of the afternoon came from junior Abigail Rogers, who finished third on the floor exercise with a score of 9.800. Rogers and sophomore Kayla Kincade also paced Air Force on the balance beam, as the duo recorded matching scores of 9.600 to tie for sixth on that event.
Sophomore Michelle Denise was the top Falcon finisher on the uneven bars, collecting a total of 9.550 to tie for ninth, while freshman Brittany Dutton and senior Kelly Lewis tied for eighth on the vault with scores of 9.625.
The Falcons continue on the road next weekend, as they travel to Anchorage, Alaska, for a pair of dual meets with Mountain Pacific Sports Federation foe Alaska-Anchorage. The two teams first meet on Friday, March 14, before wrapping up the weekend on Sunday, March 16. Both matches are slated to begin at 6 p.m. (Alaska Time Zone).
