KALAMAZOO, Mich. - For the second straight week, the Air Force women's gymnastics team improved its team total in dual-meet competition. The Falcons tallied a season-best 186.275, but were unable to overcome Western Michigan's home floor advantage, as the Broncos tallied 193.375 to remain perfect at University Arena in Kalamazoo, Mich., on Saturday, Feb. 24.

Senior Christine Powers paced the Falcons with a second-place finish on the balance beam. Garnering a season-best score of 9.700, Powers finished just .100 off of the meet winner.

Classmate Sashonna Iwaniec picked up a pair of third-place finishes for Air Force, while leading the team on another individual event. Iwaniec, who set a season-best 37.775 in the all-around to finish third, also topped the Falcons' squad with a third-place score of 9.675 on the vault. That score matches her best mark of the season on the apparatus. In addition, Iwaniec led the squad on the uneven bars, tallying a 9.425 to place sixth.

Sophomore Abigail Rogers scored a team-best 9.650 on the floor exercise to finish fifth.

The Falcons step away from competition next weekend, before traveling back to California for a tri-meet with Cal-Berkeley and Penn on Friday, March 9.
