DENVER, Colo. - The Air Force women's gymnastics team recorded a season-best score of 192.400 during a dual meet at 18th-ranked Denver (195.800) on Saturday, Jan. 25. Backed by a pair of top-four finishes from senior Katie Hawthorne, the Falcons posted a team score that matched the program's 10th-highest total since head coach Doug Day arrived at the Academy in 2007.

Hawthorne earned the team's best placement of the night, as she matched a season high of 9.775 to finish third on the uneven bars. She also paced the Falcons on the floor exercise, as she scored a 9.725 to tie for fourth and break the Pioneers' sweep of the top six.

The Falcons' senior was one of two Air Force gymnasts to finish within the top half of the field on the uneven bars, as junior Lindsay Ebel scored a 9.675 to finish sixth. Classmate Jessica Wallander led the team on the vault with a fourth-place score of 9.750, while sophomore Sarah Neumann and senior Linnaea Hance tied for the squad's best finish on the balance beam, with a sixth-place score of 9.750. Hance improved her season total in the all-around to 38.475 during a runner-up performance.

After competing on the road for the first three weeks of the season, Air Force finally opens the home portion of their season on Saturday, Feb. 1, when its hosts Utah State and Seattle Pacific at the Academy's Cadet West Gym.
