Lindsay Ebel, Linnaea Hance Earn USAG Accolades

Ebel was honored with the Mari-Rae Sopper Spirit Award and Hance was named the Outstanding Senior Gymnast.

SENIOR | 2015: Team captain.

JUNIOR | 2014: Received USA Gymnastics' Mari Rae Sopper Spirit Award...earned USAG All-America (first team) honors on the balance beam at the USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships...finished in a tie for fifth in the event preliminary (9.675), did not compete in the event finals due to USAG's rule of "no more than three gymnasts per school"...competed on the balance beam and uneven bars during 13 of 14 team competitions...scored a career-best 9.800 on the beam during the Falcons' meet at New Hampshire...that mark was ranked third on team...posted a career-best score of 9.875 on the uneven bars during the USAG team finals...that score was tied for the best on the team in 2014...tied for first on that event at the Eagle Invitational, after setting a (then) career-high of 9.775...did not score lower than 9.625 on the uneven bars during any meet...earned the team's Courage Award.

SOPHOMORE | 2013: Did not compete for the women's gymnastics team while recovering from illness...spent the year as a manager for the Air Force cheerleading team.

FRESHMAN | 2012: Competed in five meets, including four as a member of the uneven bars rotation...scored a career-best 9.625 on that event during the Falcons' victory over UC-Davis...also broke the 9.550-mark the following week at Rutgers...competed on the balance beam at the USAG Championships (Team Qualifier), scoring a 9.100.

HIGH SCHOOL | CLUB TEAM: Mountain Vista High School...lettered in academics...competed at the club level for Adrenaline Gymnastics and Colorado Aerials...coached by Aaron Gallegos, Kathy Vighil and Jason Bates...two-time Level 10 national qualifier (2007, 2008)...elite qualifier in 2006.

PERSONAL: Full name is Lindsay Ashley Ebel...nickname is "Ebs"...daughter of Wayne and Deanna Ebel...has one older brother, Jared, and one younger brother, Ryan...majoring in management...future plans include working in the personnel field...served as a Group PEER Officer and Squadron Flight Commander during the 2014 fall semester...named the Top Two-Degree of the Semester for group during the 2014 winter semester...also named top Element Leader of squadron...attended the Academy's Prep School...received athletic excellence ropes all four quarters and at the end of the year...also received military excellence ropes for two semesters...named the top female athlete for the Class of 2011...competed in club gymnastics while at the prep school...enjoys puzzles and being outside in the sun...favorite quote is "The elevator to success is out of order. You will have to take the stairs - one step at a time"...favorite event is the uneven bars, because "it's all about swinging and having fun! I love the momentum and it is not a constant hard pounding on the body like floor or vault"...considers balance beam a close second as a favorite event..."I love beam because when I make a new skill or compete really well I know that it's all about the mental aspect, so when I have accomplished something it is truly mind over matter and shows how strong I can be"...completed Operation Air Force at Fairchild AFB, Wash., over the summer...also traveled to Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks, before working as a cadre during prep school basic training...member of Cadet Squadron 09.
