    Falcons Set to Open 2013 Season at Denver

    Air Force will face the Pioneers at 6 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 12.

    FRESHMAN | 2013: Competed in four of the first six competitions...scored a career-best 9.775 in vault debut at the Air Force Quadrangular...that was the third-highest score on the team in 2013...recorded a personal-best 9.725 on the balance beam at the Burnsley Invitational...bettered the 9.500-mark in three of four appearances on the beam.

    HIGH SCHOOL | CLUB TEAM: Wesleyan High School...member of the National Honor Society, French Honor Society, National Science Honor Society and the National English Honor Society...competed at the club level for Gwinnett Gymnastics Center...coached by Dan Thaxton, Josh Overton and Katie Heenan Dodson...national qualifier in 2009...Georgia state champion on the balance beam...Atlanta Crown champion on the vault, uneven bars, balance beam and all-around...Sand Dollar champion on the balance beam and all-around...regional runner-up on the floor exercise in 2006.

    PERSONAL: Full first name is Alexandra, but goes by Ali...daughter of David and Elizabeth Ables...has one older brother, Turner...majoring in biology...future plans include becoming a doctor...served as Element NCO...hobbies include reading and baking...also plays in the orchestra...favorite event is the balance beam, because "it's my best event and the most fun"...completed Expeditionary Survival and Evasion Training (ESET) and Jump over the summer...also took an academic course in law...member of Cadet Squadron 11.
