Women's Hoops Falls to Corpus Christi, 68-42

    In its first game following the Christmas break, the Air Force women's basketball team had trouble finding its rhythm, losing to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 68-42. It was the sixth straight loss for the Falcons.

    After taking a 10-5 lead to open the game, the Falcons struggled offensively. They had trouble scoring, going 15 minutes without a field goal. The Islanders took advantage, extending its lead to 13 points by the end of the half.

    The Falcons committed 31 turnovers in the loss. They shot 35 percent from the field and were 16 of 30 from the free throw line. The Islanders shot 42 percent for the game.

    Rozalyn Russ led the Falcons in scoring and rebounding with 13 points and seven boards. No other player finished the game in double figures in scoring. Corpus Christi's Jessie Monlux had 17 points to lead all scorers. Detra Johnson added 12 points and Kristen Rogers scored 11 points for the Islanders.

    The Falcons next games are on the road against Penn and Navy. The team takes on Penn on Dec. 30 2 p.m. EST, followed by Navy on Jan. 2 at 5:15 p.m. EST.
