The Air Force women's basketball team returns to action this weekend, Dec. 6-7, as it hosts North Dakota State, SIUE and Wyoming in the annual Air Force Classic.

The first game of the weekend will tip off at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, featuring Wyoming and SIUE, while Air Force and North Dakota State will follow at 7:00 p.m. Saturday's action begins at 2:00 p.m. with the North Dakota State-Wyoming game, followed by a match-up between Air Force and SIUE at 4:30 p.m.

Air Force put together its best defensive performance of the season, but dropped a 61-37 road decision to Wichita State Sunday afternoon at Charles Koch Arena.

Senior Camille Thompson was the lone Falcon to score in double figures, finishing with 12 points. Freshman Kelly Lujan added eight points, while freshman Sarah Fotsch grabbed a team-leading eight rebounds.

Air Force enters this weekend's tournament with an 0-5 overall record on the season, following its road loss to Wichita State on Sunday.

The Falcons currently have two players averaging in double figures scoring, with junior Jimi Blagowsky averaging a team-leading 10.8 points per game, while senior Cherae Medina adds 10.0 points per contest and a team-leading 4.0 assists per game. Air Force's leading rebounder is sophomore Madeleine Philpot with 5.0 boards per contest.

North Dakota State enters this weekend's tournament with a 3-4 overall record. Last weekend, the Bison captured the tournament title at the DoubleTree Los Angeles Westside Thanksgiving Classic, defeating Montana (70-53) and UC Irvine (64-61).

The Bison are led by junior Brooke Lemar, who is averaging a team-leading 17.6 points and 5.4 assists per contest, along with 5.0 rebounds per game. Marena Whittle adds 11.0 points and 6.4 rebounds per contest, while Miki Stephenson averages a team-high 6.4 boards per game.

SIUE currently holds a 1-6 overall record on the season. The Cougars are coming off an 0-2 performance at the UCF Thanksgiving Classic, with losses to Delaware (71-42) and host Central Florida (68-43).

Junior Tierny Austin leads the Cougars with 12.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, while CoCo Moore is second on the team in scoring with 9.9 points per contest.

Through games of Dec. 4, Air Force ranks second in the Mountain West in three-point field goal percentage defense (.245).

Individually, senior Cherae Medina ranks sixth in the Mountain West in assists per game with 4.0, while freshman Kelly Lujan ranks ninth in three-point field goal percentage (.385).

The Falcons had their best defensive performance of the season versus Wichita State on last Sunday, holding the Shockers to 61 points, a season-low for an Air Force opponent. Wichita State also shot just 37.7 percent from the field for the game, becoming the first Air Force opponent to shoot under 40 percent this season.

Junior Lindsey Lewis had the biggest game of her career against Wichita State, posting new personal-best marks in points (7), field goals made (2), steals (2) and blocks (1) and matching career highs in rebounds (2) and assists (1), while playing a career-high 31 minutes. Lewis entered the game with just 58 minutes played in 10 career appearances.

The Falcons are back on the road next Wednesday, Dec. 11, when they visit Omaha in a non-conference contest.
