Women's Basketball Struggles in Exhibition Game

USAF, Colo. - (Nov. 10) The Falcons' women's basketball team struggled in its final exhibition game, losing to cross-town opponent Regis University, 95-56.

Regis came out strong, opening a 21-6 lead in the game's first eight minutes. The Falcons could never recover from the early deficit. The Falcons committed 26 turnovers in the loss and shot just 35 percent from the field. Regis finished the game with a .580 shooting percentage.

Rangers' 5-foot-3 point guard Meshach Rhoades led all scorers with 19 points. Andi Pruitt added 15 points and Jenny Bahl notched 13 points for Regis.

Morgan Bennett led the Falcons with 14 points, while teammate Samantha Clifton scored 11 points. Clifton, a starting forward, gave the team a scare when she left the game midway through the first half with an injury. She was checked out by the trainers and returned to play in the second half.

"I would describe it as uninspired and undisciplined, and that's not Air Force basketball," head coach Sue Darling said. "Obviously we have a lot of preparations to make before next Friday."

The Falcons open the regular season Friday, Nov. 10, at Clune Arena. They will face long-time rival Denver, with tip-off set for 7 p.m.
