The Air Force women's basketball team will play Regis on Thursday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m. at Clune Arena in a controlled scrimmage. It will be the first action for the Falcons under new head coach Ardie McInelly.

"I am very excited about the season," McInelly said. "The players are putting forth the effort needed to become winners. We have been pleased with what we have seen and we will surprise a lot of teams."

McInelly and her staff come to the Falcons after a successful stint at Idaho State. Last year they led the Bengals team to a 25-5 overall record and an undefeated 18-0 conference record to capture the league title. The team rattled off 21 consecutive victories, the nation's longest winning streak. McInelly was named Big Sky Conference coach of the year for the 1999-00 and 2000-01 seasons.

McInelly has vowed to bring excitement to the Falcons program. She has boldly promised more wins than last season, when Air Force was 3-25 overall and 0-14 in the Mountain West. Her aura of confidence and positive energy has generated excitement for the upcoming season.

Season tickets are now on sale for the 2001-02 season. Prices for a season package range from $20-$40 for adults and children (3-18), while individual game prices are $6 for adults and $3 for children. The scrimmage against Regis, as well as the exhibition game against Basketball Travelers on Thursday, Nov. 8, will be free of charge.
