2012-13 Women's Basketball Schedule

Highlighted by a pair of home contests against service academy rivals, the annual Air Force Classic and the return to a 16-game conference slate, the 2012-13 Air Force women's basketball schedule was released by head coach Andrea Williams.

"We're excited about this year's schedule," said Williams. "Our seniors see the challenge in meeting one of our goals, which is to get double-digit wins, as well as beating teams we haven't beaten in our three years together. It looks to be another fun year for Air Force women's basketball."

After hosting Chadron State in an exhibition on Nov. 5, the Falcons open the season with three straight road games, visiting in-state foe Northern Colorado on Nov. 9, while heading to Farmville, Va., to face Longwood on Nov. 12 and traveling to Idaho State on Nov. 17. Air Force then begins its home slate after Thanksgiving, hosting service academy rivals Army (Nov. 23) and Navy (Nov. 26).

"One of the highlights on our schedule is Thanksgiving weekend, when we host Army and Navy," said Williams. "It'll be a great opportunity for folks who stay in Colorado Springs for the weekend to support the service academies."

The annual Air Force Classic will take place Nov. 30-Dec. 1, with the Falcons facing UMKC on Friday and San Diego on Saturday, while conference foe Boise State will also compete in the tournament. Air Force is back on the road for its next two games, heading to North Dakota on Dec. 4 and Denver on Dec. 8. The Falcons then host CSU Bakersfield on Dec. 13 before taking an exam/holiday break.

Following their break, the Falcons head to Ames, Iowa, for the Cyclone Challenge Dec. 29-30. There, Air Force will face host Iowa State, along with Penn. Meanwhile, the Falcons close out their non-conference slate with a home contest versus Utah Valley on Jan. 2.

Air Force opens its 2013 conference schedule on Jan. 9, when it visits Mountain West newcomer Nevada, followed by back-to-back home games against UNLV (Jan. 12) and Colorado State (Jan. 16). The Falcons visit Boise State on Jan. 19 before returning home on Jan. 26 to host Wyoming. Following two more road games, visiting incoming Fresno State (Jan. 30) and San Diego State (Feb. 2), Air Force closes out the first half of its conference slate with a home contest versus New Mexico on Feb. 6.

The Falcons host Nevada on Feb. 9 to open the second portion of the Mountain West schedule, while traveling to UNLV (Feb. 13) and Colorado State (Feb. 16) for their next two contests. Three of Air Force's final five games will be at home, as the Falcons host Boise State (Feb. 20), Fresno State (March 2) and San Diego State (March 6), while the Falcons travel to Wyoming on Feb. 27 and close out the regular season at New Mexico on March 9.

"During our conference season, we're excited about picking a date for the Pack the House Challenge," said Williams. "We're the two-time defending Pack the House champions in the Mountain West, and we want our fans to come out and support us again as we look for that third title. We're also excited about February, when we wear our pink camo jerseys in support of Play4Kay and breast cancer awareness. Then we're looking forward to a great March, and hoping to stay in Vegas a little bit longer this season."

The 2013 Mountain West Championship will be held from March 12-16 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nev.
