Air Force Hosts Front Range Rival Wyoming on Wednesday

    The Air Force women's basketball team is back home this Wednesday, Feb. 26, as it hosts Wyoming in a 7:00 p.m. contest.

    Last Meeting: Wyoming rolled to an 82-47 victory over the Falcons on Jan. 22 in Laramie. Junior Lindsey Lewis and senior Camille Thompson finished with 12 and 10 points, respectively, to lead Air Force, while Kayla Woodward dropped in 29 points to pace the Cowgirls.

    The Falcons dropped a 76-43 road contest to Nevada on Saturday. Junior Jimi Blagowsky was the leading scorer for Air Force, finishing with 12 points, while freshman Kelly Lujan added 10 points in her hometown appearance.

    Air Force currently holds a 1-23 overall record and 0-14 mark in the Mountain West following its road loss to Nevada on Saturday.

    The Falcons are led by junior Jimi Blagowsky, who is averaging 11.2 points per game, while senior Camille Thompson adds 11.0 points per contest. Meanwhile, Air Force's leading rebounder is sophomore Madeleine Philpot with 4.3 boards per contest.

    Wyoming enters this weekend's game with an 18-7 overall record on the season and a 9-5 mark in the Mountain West. The Cowgirls are coming off a 75-49 home victory over league-leading Colorado State.

    Junior Kayla Woodward is Wyoming's leading scorer with 17.7 points per game, while Fallon Lewis adds 15.1 points and a league-leading 9.7 rebounds per game. In addition, Kaitlyn Mileto and Marquelle Dent also average double figures in scoring, adding 14.0 and 10.0 points per game, respectively.

    Through games of Feb. 22, Air Force ranks seventh in the Mountain West in three-point field goals made per game (4.7). The Falcons also rank seventh in the league in assists (13.5) in conference games only.

    Individually, senior Cherae Medina ranks second in the Mountain West in assists per game (4.8) and ninth in assist/turnover ratio (1.5), while junior Jimi Blagowsky ranks eighth in three-point field goals made per game (1.7).

    Through games of Feb. 22, Wyoming leads the Mountain West in three-point field goal percentage (.354), defensive rebounds (28.9) and defensive rebounding percentage (.707). The Cowgirls also lead the league in scoring offense (74.4) and defensive rebounding percentage (.701) in conference games only.

    Individually, Fallon Lewis leads the league in rebounding (9.7) and defensive rebounding (6.7), while ranking fourth in field goal percentage (.500) and fifth in scoring (15.1) and offensive rebounding (3.0). Kayla Woodward ranks second in three-point field goals made per game (2.7), third in scoring (17.7) and three-point field goal percentage (.407), fourth in rebounding (7.2) and fifth in defensive rebounds (5.1). Kaitlyn Mileto ranks third in the league in free throw percentage (.820) and three-point field goals made per game (2.6), while Marquelle Dent ranks third in assists (4.6) and fifth in assist/turnover ratio (1.7).

    Freshman Kelly Lujan has reached double figures in scoring in the past two games, registering a personal-best 14 points against San Diego State on Feb. 15, while finishing with 10 points at Nevada this past Saturday.

    Three different Falcons have entered the program's Division I career record books so far this season. Senior Cherae Medina currently ranks second in Air Force's Division I era in career assists with 229, while ranking ninth in career three-point field goal percentage (.299) and 10th in career three-point field goals made (66) and attempted (221). Meanwhile, junior Jimi Blagowsky ranks seventh in career three-point field goal percentage (.316) in the Division I era.

    In addition, senior Camille Thompson now ranks tied for fifth on the Falcons' Division I career games played with 113.

    The Falcons have two players who currently rank among the top 10 in single-season field goal percentage (Division I era) at the Academy. Sophomore Missy Byrd ranks second on the list with a season field goal percentage of .478, while junior Lindsey Lewis ranks 10th at .438.

    JIMI IN THE TOP 10...
    With 40 made three-pointers this season, junior Jimi Blagowsky currently ranks ninth on the Falcons' single-season list (Division I era) for three-point field goals made. She is also tied for 10th on Air Force's all-time list for three-pointers made in a single season.
