This season, members of the Air Force women's basketball team will share some of their experiences at the Academy, both on and off the court. This week, senior Alicia Leipprandt talks about the beginning of the Falcons' Mountain West slate.
FINALLY...the start of Conference. The road to this point has had its ups and downs (mostly downs), but now, there is a different atmosphere. Over Christmas break, we really grew together as not only teammates but as friends. Our "meshing" seemed to carry over onto the court, leaving us with a close loss to Nevada and a win against UNLV. Hopefully our confidence will stay high as we travel to Idaho to face Boise State. Boise State is a good team with some talented players so they will definitely be a challenge.
I am really proud of the team for bouncing back from our early season struggles and coming out strong the last two games. Personally, I had a momentous point in my career when I scored my 1000th point two weeks ago against Utah Valley. This is something that I will be able to remember in the years to come, but more than this, I would like to remember our surprising, underdog, bust out, GROUND BREAKING conference season. The four seniors (Austyn, Dymond, Katie, and I) have been talking about how much we want to change the Air Force Women's Basketball program around and that we are the group to do it. If we are able to do that this season, then we will be four satisfied seniors!
