USAFA, Colo. - Senior Camille Thompson (McDonough, Ga.) finished with nine points and eight rebounds as the Air Force women's basketball team fell to visiting Wyoming, 73-32, Wednesday evening in Clune Arena.
Wyoming (19-7, 10-5) led from the start, as Air Force shot just 16 percent from the field in the opening half to go into the locker room with a 34-11 deficit. Although the Falcons shot better after the break, knocking down almost 43 percent of their shots from the field, they never got closer than 21 points in the final stanza.
The Cowgirls were able to take advantage of the Falcons' poor ballhandling, scoring 28 points off of Air Force's 23 turnovers. Additionally, Wyoming relied on its three-point shooting, knocking down 10 field goals from beyond the arc, and outscored Air Force in the paint, 30-12.
Kayla Woodward led three Cowgirls in double figures scoring, finishing with a game-high 19 points. Kaitlyn Mileto added 14 points, while Marquelle Dent pitched in 12 points and nine assists.
The Falcons (1-24, 0-15) are on the road this Saturday, March 1, when they visit UNLV in a 4:00 p.m. (PT) contest.
