Air Force Falls to Colorado State in Conference Opener

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - In its first conference game of the season, the Air Force women's basketball team dropped a 73-39 contest to Colorado State Wednesday afternoon in Moby Arena.
Junior Dymond James (Brambleton, Va.) led the Falcons with 14 points and a career-high five steals after missing the past five games due to an ankle injury, while sophomore Michelle Ivey (Stone Mountain, Ga.) grabbed a career-best eight rebounds.
The Falcons (5-11, 0-1) struggled offensively throughout the game, shooting just 18.6 percent from the field, while Colorado State (5-11, 1-0) shot nearly 53 percent for the game. The Rams, who knocked down 7-of-11 three-pointers, also outrebounded Air Force, 45-39.
Four different players scored in double figures for Colorado State, led by sophomore Sam Martin with 17 points.
The Falcons return to action on Saturday, Jan. 14, when they host conference newcomer Boise State in a 2:00 p.m. contest.
