Tresemer Finishes Eighth At Las Vegas Invitational
Las Vegas, Nev. - After dropping a pair of bouts to nationally ranked opponents Saturday, Air Force wrestler Beau Tresemer (Sr., Norman, Okla.) finished in eighth place at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational, being held at the Cashman Center.
Tresemer began the day in the consolation semifinals at 165 pounds, where he faced Cal State Fullerton's Risto Marttinen. After winning a 13-8 decision over Martinnen, Tresemer advanced to the consolation finals where he dropped a narrow 6-5 decision to 11th-ranked Patrick Pitsch of Arizona State. Following his loss to Pitsch, Tresemer moved into the seventh-place bout, this time taking on Pittsburgh's Justin Nestor, currently ranked eighth in the nation. However, Tresemer was unable to grab the victory, dropping a 7-0 decision to Nestor to end the weekend with an eighth-place finish. Tresemer and the rest of the Falcons return to action on Friday, Dec. 9, when they travel to Golden, Colo., to open the 2005-06 dual meet season with a 7:00 p.m. contest versus Colorado School of Mines.
