Air Force Wrestlers Head To Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational

    The Air Force wrestling team is back in action this weekend, Dec. 1-2, at the 25th-annual Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational. The Falcons will also send a group to Hays, Kan., for the FHSU-Bob Smith Open, on Dec. 2.

    Scouting the Falcons...
    For the fourth-straight weekend, the Air Force wrestling team takes part in open competition. Jordan Tribble took second place in the Amateur Division (184 lbs.) at the season-opening Cowboy Open, while Tyler French finished fifth in the Amateur Division (174 lbs.) at the Kaufman-Brand Open in week two.

    Last weekend, the Falcons stepped up their performance, finishing with five placewinners at the Oklahoma Open.

    This Week's Competitors...
    The Falcons will be represented in nine different weight classes at the prestigious Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational. Competing for Air Force this weekend will be Zach Valdez (125), Stephen Makuka (133), Jake Kriegbaum (141), Bridger Lord (157), Zach Lord (165), Stephen Crozier (174), Jacob Devlin (184) and Anthony Stegeman (HWT).

    Meanwhile, 17 other wrestlers will compete at the FHSU-Bob Smith Open. The Falcons will be represented by Samuel Sheppard (125), Kurt Spranger (133), Juancarlos Pino (133), Chris Szabolcs (149), Andrew Teigeler (149), Tony Dorward (157), Joshua Lopez (157), Patrick Arkwright (157), Michael Erickson (157), Randall Mitchner (157), Justin Shadrix (165), Akira Nervik (165), Tyler French (174), James Ciccone (174), AJ Harris (184), Jordan Tribble (184) and Peter Bozynski (HWT).

    Up Next...
    The Falcons open up their dual slate next weekend. Air Force travels to Western State on Dec. 8 and returns to the Academy to host Colorado School of Mines on Dec. 9.
