Falcons Travel To Nebraska For Kaufman-Brand Open


    The Air Force wrestling team heads to Omaha, Neb., Saturday, Nov. 20, for the Kaufman-Brand Open, hosted by the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Matches will begin at 9:00 a.m. and take place at Lee & Helene Sapp Fieldhouse.
    The Falcons are coming off an impressive opening weekend at Wyoming's Cowboy Open, where five wrestlers were placewinners at the Divison I level, while six others captured top-four finishes in the Division II bracket. Leading the pack for Air Force last week was senior captain Josh Peterson (Comstock, Wis.), who went 4-0 on the day to finish first at 149 pounds. Other top finishers in the Division I competition included junior Matt Benza (Tamaqua, Pa.), who placed second at 133 pounds, junior Brandon Strong (Denver, Colo.), who was third at 125, Zane Hershey (Jr., Hugoton, Kan.), a fourth-place finisher at 184 pounds and Brenden McLean (Jr., Grants Pass, Ore.), who placed fourth at 197 pounds.
