Crozier Named MWC Scholar-Athlete
Colorado Springs, Colo. -- A total of 535 student-athletes, including Air Force wrestler Stephen Crozier, were named Mountain West Conference Scholar Athletes for 2005-06, as released by the conference office Tuesday morning. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition for their athletic team.
BYU led the way with 135 student-athletes honored, followed by New Mexico (80), Utah (54) and Wyoming (54), TCU (53), Air Force (52), Colorado State (44), UNLV (35) and San Diego State (28). Crozier, a rising sophomore from Monona, Iowa, currently holds a 3.66 GPA. Crozier, who competed at 174 pounds, was one of two freshmen to hold a regular spot in the Falcons' starting lineup.
