USAFA, Colo. - Air Force assistant wrestling coach Sam Barber will head to Germany this week, as one of the coaches of the U.S. National Team at the FILA Junior World Cup, which will be held May 27-28.
The newly created FILA Junior World Cup is a dual meet tournament featuring some of the top wrestling countries in the world. Participating teams at this year's event include the United States, Russia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Iran, Japan and Germany.
The team, coached by Barber and Bill Zadick, is scheduled to arrive in Germany on May 24, with workouts on the days leading up to the competition. The first session is slated for May 27, while the second session will be held on May 28. Following the FILA Junior World Cup, there will be a training camp with the teams from Germany and Japan, scheduled to run from May 29-June 3.
Members of this year's U.S. FILA Junior World Cup team include Nick Roberts, Jack Hathaway, Tony Ramos, Josh Kindig, Taylor Massa, Nick Thomusseit, Tanner Hall and Bobby Telford.
