Tresemer Named To 2005-06 NWCA All-Academic Team
USAFA, Colo. - Air Force senior co-captain Beau Tresemer (Norman, Okla.) was one of 68 wrestlers named to the NWCA's 2005-06 All-Academic Team, released Tuesday morning. A 2006 NCAA qualifier at 165 pounds, Tresemer has compiled a 3.210 cumulative GPA while majoring in legal studies at the Academy.
To qualify for selection on the All-Academic team, wrestlers must A) have a 3.2 GPA and been an NCAA qualifier or won 60 percent of his total schedule and must have competed in 60 percent of team schedule or B) have a 3.0 and earned NCAA All-American honors. This season, Tresemer finished the year with an 18-12 overall record after missing nearly two months of action due to injury. After finishing third at the 2006 West Regional, Tresemer, who placed eighth at the prestigious Las Vegas Invitational in November, earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships. For his career, Tresemer compiled an impressive 82-42 record, including a team-best 32 wins in 2005. In addition to Tresemer's selection to the individual All-Academic team, the rest of the Falcons' squad was honored as having one of the top-30 team GPA's. Air Force ranked tied with Rider for 18th place on the list with a combined GPA of 2.925. Brown finished with the top team GPA for the second-straight year, coming in at 3.352, just ahead of second-place Duke at 3.327. Team rankings are selected by taking the average GPA of each team's starting ten wrestlers along with two backups that wrestled in at least one varsity match.
