Cedar Falls, Iowa - The Western Wrestling Conference has announced its inaugural All-Academic Team and Commissioner's Honor Roll for the 2006-07 season. This year's academic awards will honor 31 student-athletes from the seven conference schools. Leading the way for Air Force is sophomore Stephen Crozier (Monona, Iowa), an honoree on the All-Academic Team, while three other Falcons were named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll.

The Falcons' lone All-Academic Team selection, Crozier, an economics major with a 3.44 GPA, has been Air Force's starter at 174 pounds for the past two seasons. Meanwhile, representing Air Force on the Commissioner's Honor Roll are senior Andrew Teigeler (Yorktown, Va.) and freshmen Samuel Sheppard (Ramstein AB, Germany) and Kurt Spranger (Tampa, Fla.). Teigeler, a 149-pounder, holds a 3.63 GPA in aeronautical engineering. Sheppard, a wrestler at 125 pounds, has a 3.06 GPA, while 133-pounder Spranger, majoring in astronautical engineering, holds a 3.51 GPA.

To qualify for the All-Academic team, student-athletes had to secure a minimum 3.20 grade point average, be a starter or key reserve and be a sophomore or higher in academic standing. This year's WWC All-Academic squad is comprised of 11 student-athletes, including Crozier. Meanwhile, the Commissioner's Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes who have maintained a 3.0 grade point average. This year's Commissioner's Honor Roll will honor 23 additional WWC student-athletes.

The Western Wrestling Conference is comprised of seven schools including the Air Force Academy, North Dakota State, Northern Colorado, Northern Iowa, South Dakota State, Utah Valley State and Wyoming. The conference formed in April 2006.
