Brackets for the 2014 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships were released by the NCAA today, with four Air Force wrestlers included in the field of 330 for this year's tournament, which is being held March 20-22 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Sophomore Josh Martinez (Colorado Springs, Colo.), ranked ninth in the nation at 125 pounds by InterMat, was awarded an at-large bid to this year's championships, while seniors Greg Rinker (Northampton, Pa.), Josh Kreimier (Fort Collins, Colo.) and Devin Hightower (Colorado Springs, Colo.) all earned automatic bids with their performances at the NCAA West Regional, held last weekend in Orem, Utah.
Martinez, making his second NCAA appearance, enters this year's tournament as the fourth-seed at 125 pounds and will face North Carolina's Nathan Kraisser in his first-round match-up.
At 133 pounds, Rinker, in his first NCAA appearance, will face sixth-seeded Mason Beckman of Lehigh in his opening bout, while Kreimier, competing at the NCAA Championships for the third-straight season, will face top-seeded James Green of Nebraska at 157 pounds to open the tournament. Rounding the group of Air Force competitors is Hightower, who makes his first NCAA appearance. Hightower, wrestling at 184 pounds, is slated to match up against Virginia Tech's Nick Vetterlein, the 16th seed.
