The Air Force wrestling team is on the road this weekend, Feb. 15-16 for a pair of WWC dual meets. The Falcons visit North Dakota State Friday evening before traveling to South Dakota State on Saturday.
Last Time Out...
The Falcons suffered their first conference loss of the season last weekend, falling 25-14 to Northern Colorado. Senior Jake Kriegbaum led Air Force with a fall at 141 pounds, while Tyler French (174) and Jacob Devlin (184) added major decisions at their respective weight classes.
Scouting the Falcons...
Air Force enters this weekend with a 7-8 overall dual record and 1-1 mark in the WWC. Leading the Falcons with 23 total wins on the season is junior Stephen Crozier. Close behind is senior Anthony Stegeman with 22 victories, while sophomore Tyler French has 20 wins on the season. Crozier and senior Jake Kriegbaum also have nine dual victories each to lead the team.
Meanwhile, senior captain Chris Szabolcs lead the team with seven falls this year, while sophomore Kurt Spranger owns a fastest fall of 46 seconds.
Scouting the Bison...
North Dakota State enters this weekend with a 9-8 overall record and 3-1 mark in the WWC. The Bison are coming off a 29-10 victory over Wyoming.
Juniors Adam Aho and Gabriel Mooney lead NDSU with 22 and 21 victories, respectively, on the season.
Scouting the Jackrabbits...
South Dakota State currently holds a 1-8 overall record on the year and an 0-5 conference mark. The Jackrabbits, coming off a 42-3 loss to Northern Iowa, will host Portland State Friday evening before facing Air Force on Saturday.
Redshirt freshman Adam Everson leads the Jacks with a 21-9 record, while Ryan Meyer is second on the team with 18 victories.
Up Next...
The Falcons close out the regular season next weekend, Feb. 23, with a home dual meet versus Wyoming. The meet will be the final home contest for eight Air Force seniors.
