Feb. 6, 2008
Cedar Falls, Iowa - After a winning the 165-pound title at the All-Academy Championships last weekend, Air Force junior Stephen Crozier (Monona, Iowa) was named the Western Wrestling Conference Wrestler of the Week, as announced today by league officials. This marks Crozier's second weekly honor this season. Crozier led the Falcons to a third-place finish at this year's All-Academy Championships, hosted by Army. Seeded second in the tournament, Crozier went 3-0 on the day, registering a pair of major decisions before pinning top-seeded Vincent Renaut in a time of 4:14 in the championship bout. He became the first Falcon since 2005 to win an individual title at the All-Academy Championships. He now leads the Falcons with a 23-9 overall record, one more victory than in his first two seasons combined. Crozier and the rest of the Falcons are back in action this weekend, Feb. 10, when they travel to Greeley, Colo., to face WWC foe Northern Colorado. The match is slated to take place at 2:00 p.m. at Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion.
