THIS WEEKEND: Air Force travels to Gunnison, Colo., to compete in the Tracy Borah duals at Mountaineer Fieldhouse, hosted by Western State University.  The Falcons will square off against three Div. II teams at the event; Western State at 9 a.m., New Mexico Highlands at 10:30 a.m. and Colorado Mesa at 1 p.m.  At last year's Borah Duals, Air Force swept the competition, posting 90 team points while allowing the opposition 30 points on the day.

EARLIER THIS WEEK: Air Force sent its top wrestlers to compete amongst over 75 ranked wrestlers at the Southern Scuffle, Jan. 1-2.  Freshman 125-pounder Tony DeCesare led the Falcons with a fifth-place finish, while teammate Isaac Jimenez placed eighth. DeCesare is the first Falcon freshman to place at the Scuffle since Josh Martinez in 2012.

UP NEXT:  Air Force travels to the Big Apple for a pair of duals on Friday, Jan. 12. First, the Falcons will take on Long Island-Post before taking the mats against Hofstra.  The matches are slated for 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively.

A QUICK LOOK AT AIR FORCE: The Falcons are led by Alec Opsal (141) and Anthony McLaughlin (197) who are 2-0 apiece on the dual slate.  McLaughlin is 8-0 in duals dating back to last season where he concluded at 6-0.  Opsal has recorded the only bonus points in dual meet action thus far.

Overall, freshman 184-pounder Jimmy Weaver and sophomore 133-pounder Garret O'Shea lead the Falcons with 12 wins apiece.  Freshman classmate Lenny Petersen leads the team in bonus points with 36 after recording four falls at the UNK-Holiday Inn Open. Petersen leads the squad with six falls.  Air Force has seen two tournament champions this season.  Opsal claimed the title at the Cowboy Open (elite), while Noah Irons was champion at the UNC Open.
