Kearney, Neb. – A small contingency of Falcons concluded action at the Holiday Inn Open hosted by the University of Nebraska-Kearney, Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore Garrett O’Shea led the Falcons with a second-place finish in the 141 elite bracket, registering two major decisions and a decision win in his 3-1 performance on the day.
In the amateur bracket, freshman Casey Jumps checked in at second place, logging a fall and three decisions en route the finals match where he finished at 4-1 on the day. Freshman Lenny Petersen was on a war path in the 141 bracket as he posted four falls en route to his third-place finish. He was 4-1 on the event with a fastest fall of 1:10.
Freshman classmates Jimmy Weaver, Terrence Perkins and Brock Jennings finished fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively. Weaver went 5-1 on the event with two falls and three decisions. Perkins posted a major decision and two decision wins for a 3-2 tally on the day. Jennings recorded three falls and two decisions to finish at 5-1.
